Toronto – March 19, 2025 – With a federal election around the corner, UFCW Canada and UFCW OUTreach are proud to be participating in Queer Momentum’s non-partisan Vote Rainbow Equality campaign – an initiative focused on empowering Canadians to speak up for freedom, equality and human rights.
The federal election is happening even as hate towards queer and trans communities continues to rise, and as we see U.S. President Donald Trump attacking the freedom, legal recognition and human rights of transgender Americans. That’s why, this election, we’re asking you to join a national non-partisan campaign called Vote Rainbow Equality.
Vote Rainbow Equality is all about empowering Canadians to speak up for freedom, equality and human rights. Together, we’ll reject the divide and conquer agenda of anti-2SLGBTQIA+ groups and cynical politicians, and unite in a shared vision of a more free, equal and socially just future – for queer people, for everyone.
Every worker deserves equality, human rights and safety in their community. UFCW Canada, and the Canadian labour movement, are proud of our movement’s legacy, speaking up for workers and their families, including those from the queer community. Queer Canadians are our colleagues, our neighbours, and family members. And right now, they need our solidarity.
