International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

Toronto – November 22, 2021 – The United Nations (UN) recognizes November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. To mark the occasion, UFCW Canada is participating in the Wear Purple Day to demonstrate our commitment to ending gender-based violence.

The day also marks the official launch of the UN-inspired 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, which runs through December 10, Human Rights Day.

Members and supporters are encouraged to share a photo of themselves wearing purple on November 25, along with a personal commitment to ending gender-based violence. Be sure to tag @UFCWCanada in the post, using the hashtags #UFCW and #GenerationEquality.
