Toronto – November 9, 2022 – Gold-rated Uber Black driver Waseem Tipu has completed over 5,000 trips in four years working on the app but found himself in dire straits when the company deactivated his account due to an error with his insurance documents.
“I had an issue with insurance documents uploaded to the Uber app which caused my account to be deactivated,” says Tipu. “But someone referred me to UFCW and when I reached out, they dealt with Uber, presented my case and now everything is settled and I am so grateful to UFCW, thank you.”
UFCW Canada represented Tipu’s case before the company providing enough evidence to overturn their decision and reactivate the Gold-rated driver so he could get back to work doing what he enjoys while providing for his family.
In the wake of UFCW Canada’s historic agreement with Uber Canada, reached earlier this year, drivers can now access representation services from UFCW Canada to assist with account deactivations and account disputes.
