Voting in the October 24 BC Election

Elections BC provides the following information on how to vote in the upcoming election:

Vote.pngA provincial election has been called for Saturday, October 24. You can register to vote or update your voter registration by phone until 8 p.m. (Pacific time) on Saturday, September 26, or online until midnight on Saturday,September 26.

If you want to vote in person, registering now will ensure you get a Where to Vote card from Elections BC, and will make the voting process faster when you go to vote.

If you don’t register or update your information by phone or online by Saturday, September 26 you can still do so when you vote, though the process will take longer.

If you want to vote by mail, you may register and request a vote-by-mail package at the same time.

To register to vote in British Columbia, you must be:

  • 18 or older by General Voting Day,
  • a Canadian citizen, and
  • a B.C. resident for the past six months as of General Voting Day.

If you meet these criteria, registration is easy! You can register:

  • online
  • by phone at 1-800-661-8683
  • by mail, fax or email by sending us this form
  • in person at our office at 100 – 1112 Fort St, Victoria, BC, V8V 3K8
  • in person when you go to vote (see the ID requirements)
