Uber drivers/delivery people have a voice at work now!
The newly announced 5-year National Agreement between UFCW Canada and Uber Canada gives these workers the opportunity to have representation for deactivation and account disputes. It opens the door to representation for day to day on the job issues, quarterly meetings with Senior Uber Management to discuss and resolve concerns, as well as joint health and safety meetings, with a committee consisting of Uber drivers, UFCW Canada and Uber representatives.
“I want to congratulate National President Meinema and his staff on this unprecedented agreement with UBER Canada. UFCW has been leading the fight on legislation and representation for gig workers and this is a great first step” expressed Local President, Dan Goodman.
