UFCW Local 247 members working at BC Superstore and Distribution Centre Locations have voted on whether to accept a new Memorandum of Settlement or to go on strike.
With ballots counted today, the new agreement has been accepted by a margin of 58%.
We want to thank all members who have participated in the process as we know these decisions are not easy.
“We recognize this was difficult decision for many members and I would like to thank all members who participated in the process,” said Dan Goodman, President of UFCW Local 247. “Thousands of members in the province have engaged with their union. We will continue to listen and support our members as we build even greater solidarity among BC’s retail and warehouse workers.”
“Our stewards and activists were prepared for any outcome,” said UFCW Local 247 Secretary-Treasurer, Charles Pratt. “Our members have made their voices heard through this democratic vote on this final agreement.”
Now begins the work of implementing and enforcing the new agreement and supporting all members going forward. We will be informing Loblaw of the results and we will be starting the work on the implementation of the accepted changes.
Updates on the payroll implementation will be posted on this website as they become available.
