Loblaw’s Retail Bargaining Update

The Loblaw’s Retail bargaining committee has concluded a productive three days of negotiations with  your employer. Both sides met for face to face bargaining on October 6, 7 & 8 and ended with significant progress being made on the outstanding non monetary issues. Agreement was reached on a number of availability and scheduling related issues and discussions continued on the Dynamic Scheduling proposals.

"We look forward to working our way through the non monetary issues and discussing our many financial issues on the table as soon as possible" says President Dan Goodman.

Bargaining will continue with the employer on November 2, 3 & 4 and the Retail bargaining committee will continue to discuss a variety of positions via Zoom in the meantime. Further sessions are planned for later in November. Loblaw’s management will be in bargaining again with UFCW Local 401 in Alberta next week after reaching an impasse in the past bargaining session.

We take this as a positive sign and will remain in close contact with our counterparts in Alberta as their week of monetary bargaining continues. If they are able to reach an agreement in the coming weeks that will only assist us getting into the financial discussions here in BC.
