On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the man On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the many successes and achievements of women in our union and in the labour movement.Empowering women benefits everyone! We all have a role in moving gender equity forward.Today, on International Women’s Day, let's celebrate the women in our lives and reflect on how we can best contribute to ending gender discrimination.

Life outside work gets so busy. It’s hard to parti Life outside work gets so busy. It’s hard to participate in things. We know! That’s why we’re finding ways to connect members with their union more directly.By the end of this week, we’ll have held nearly 50 worksite events (open houses, coffee break meetings, scheduled visits, etc) with Superstore and DC members across BC. That’s just in the past two weeks. This is on top of our usual worksite visits.These kinds of events are a great example of what we mean by “bringing the union to the members.” They’re fun and informative, but when we do them, we are building awareness and solidarity all along the way!#ufcw247 #Solidarity #memberengagement
Today is Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) Awareness Today is Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) Awareness Day.Well, actually, it's February 29 - the only non-repetitive day of the year - but that’s only in leap years.Whether you work as a cashier in a retail store, a meat cutter in a food processing plant, or operating a fork lift, you are at risk of an RSI.These can be debilitating injuries that can negatively impact careers.Through robust health and safety programs - like proactive health and safety committees, for example - we can minimize those risks.
