Resources

At work for YOU At work for you

Many of us may face challenges outside of work that can certainly impact our work life. There are many resources in the community that can be accessed at any given time. Some employers may also offer programs to assist workers with life challenges. UFCW 247 encourages members to seek help and support when needed; resources are often available free of charge or at low cost.

211

211’s telephone line and online directory help Canadians deal with life’s challenges. The service connects users with vital community and social resources, close to home and specific to their needs.

811

811 is a free-of-charge provincial health information and advice phone line available in British Columbia. It is operated by HealthLink BC, which is part of the Ministry of Health. By calling 811, you can speak to a health service navigator, who can help you find health information and services; or connect you directly with a registered nurse, a registered dietitian, a qualified exercise professional, or a pharmacist. Any one of these healthcare professionals will help you get the information you need to manage your health concerns, or those of your family.
