Today marks the joyful festivals of Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas!

Diwali, one of India's most important festivals, is marked by lighting diyas, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance. 🪔

On Bandi Chhor Divas, Sikhs honour the courageous act of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, whose compassion, courage and solidarity in refusing his own release from prison led to the release of 52 others over four centuries ago. To all our members and friends, we wish you a joyous and prosperous Festival of Lights!

Happy Hallowe'en, UFCW Local 247 members!

UFCW has a long-standing commitment to solidarity

UFCW has a long-standing commitment to solidarity with the blood cancer community, having raised more than $54 million over the past 41 years in support of leukemia research that seeks to improve risk prediction, prevention, and treatment for individuals and families affected by blood cancer.

This past Saturday, BC UFCW members, staff and families took part in the 2026 Light the Night event in North Vancouver supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. It was a powerful way to honour those we've lost as well as survivors and allies in this worthy cause.
