After nearly 30 years of dedicated service, Charles Pratt, Secretary-Treasurer of UFCW Local 247, has retired. Charles Pratt has been a cornerstone of our union, providing steadfast leadership, financial stewardship, and unwavering commitment to the rights and well-being of our members.

As we bid farewell to ‘Chuck’, we are pleased to announce that on January 31, during the first UFCW Local 247 Executive Board meeting of 2025, Assistant to the President and Union Representative Cathy Shannon was unanimously and enthusiastically elected by the Executive Board as the new Secretary-Treasurer of our Local. Cathy brings extensive experience as a labour activist and a deep commitment to serving our members. Cathy has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication, making her the ideal candidate to take on this vital role.

“I am honored to step into this position and look forward to building on the progress we’ve made as a union while advocating for our members’ rights” said Cathy.
