Quispamsis, N.B. – October 23, 2024 – UFCW 1288P member Elizabeth Giddings is a student at Saint Mary’s University and a UFCW BDM Scholarship recipient. She is in her second year of study working towards Bachelor of Arts, while working at Atlantic Superstore.

“As a full-time student also trying to balance working part time and extra curriculars, it can often become stressful at times,” says Giddings. “Relieving any financial burden allows me to further focus on my studies and keep working harder towards my goals. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and would like to thank the BDM Scholarship and UFCW Canada for investing in my future.”

The 2024 list of BDM scholarship recipients will be posted in the coming months, and thanks to everyone who applied and referred eligible candidates.

The UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship offers a total of $18,000 in scholarships to UFCW Canada members and their families and is one of more than 25 union scholarships available to members and their relatives every year, totaling more than $300,000 in support.
