April 10, 2024 – Goderich, Ont. – The latest recipient of the BDM scholarship award goes to a UFCW 175 member, Elise Puska.

Elise is in her first year at York University in Toronto; she is looking to earn a Bachelor of Design. She is also an UFCW 175 member working at the Goderich Zehrs.

In December, Elise was presented her cheque in the Zehrs store where she works; the cheque was presented by her UFCW 175 steward, Helen Black and Union Representative Mike Windley.

The UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship offers a total of $18,000 in scholarships to UFCW Canada members and their families and is one of more than 25 union scholarships available to members and their relatives every year, totaling more than $300,000 in support.
