Mississauga, Ont. – February 16, 2024 – On February 14, long-time UFCW activist Kelly Tosato was sworn in as the new president of UFCW Local 175, after being elected with the executive board’s enthusiastic and unanimous support. In addition, Jim McLean was elected as the new secretary-treasurer. The new UFCW 175 leadership team, helmed by President Tosato, was sworn in by CLC President Bea Bruske.
“I offer my warmest congratulations to Kelly and Jim in their new roles. Their dedication, hard work, and commitment to our members means that I am leaving Local 175 in very capable hands,” says Shawn Haggerty, UFCW Canada National Council President and former UFCW 175 President. “Kelly and Jim both have been outstanding UFCW activists for decades, and I know they will most certainly provide excellent leadership for the hard-working members of UFCW 175.”
