Winnipeg – Over 100 cannabis members across The Joint locations in Manitoba are celebrating a contract victory after voting overwhelmingly in favour of accepting their first collective agreement.
“We’re proud of the new members who stood up for their rights to join UFCW 832 and worked together to not only organize their workplace but also work with us to obtain the first collective agreement for cannabis retail workers in the province of Manitoba,” says UFCW 832 President Jeff Traeger.
The new contract will be in effect for 30 months and addresses numerous concerns raised throughout the organizing campaign, such as safety, wages, unjust disciplines, and more. The new contract comes one year after the union successfully achieved a province-wide certificate.
