Moncton, N.B. – August 30, 2022 – After three long years Pride has finally returned to the City of Moncton where UFCW Canada activists joined thousands of revelers for the River of Pride Parade in celebration of LGBTQ inclusivity, community and diversity.
The parade stretched across Main Street in downtown Moncton from Foundry to Downing Streets concluding at Riverfront Park. Festivities included a Queer Market for vendors to present information and educational resources, capping off an evening event in the park with live entertainment, music and drag performances.
While most other jurisdictions host Pride activities throughout June, New Brunswick Pride festivities have gained notoriety for their colourful end of summer extravaganza held across their three major cities of Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton.
As Canada's most progressive union, UFCW Canada plays a leading role in advocating for full equality and opportunity for the LGBTQI2S community. To learn more about UFCW’s LGBTQI2S initiatives, visit www.ufcw.ca/pride.
