Mississauga, Ont. – June 7, 2022 – Drivers continue to count on UFCW Canada advocacy to get them results in disputes with the ride-hailing company Uber after signing a historic national agreement to bring representation to drivers on the platform.
Drivers Erdin Kurtyilnaz and Enal Desir both met with UFCW Canada representatives at the Mississauga Green Light Hub to go over their deactivation file, and after speaking with advocates, felt secure in their case to win back their right to earn a living.
“It feels great seeing representatives in-person, and being able to speak with someone about addressing my concerns with Uber,” says Kurtyilnaz.
After reaching a historic agreement with Uber earlier in the year, drivers can now access representational services from UFCW Canada to assist with deactivation, licensing, and background checks, among other issues.
