International Women’s Day 2022

Toronto – March 2, 2022 – International Women's Day (IWD) is a time to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and girls everywhere. A time to recognize the women who inspire, and a time to renew discussions about the importance of gender equality in Canada and around the world.

The day also marks a call to action on achieving gender parity in pay, a gap that continues to grow throughout the pandemic.

This year, UFCW Canada supports the IWD theme #BreakTheBias.

Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead. Knowing that bias exists is not enough and action is needed to level the playing field. Imagine a gender equal world. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.

Show solidarity by taking these actions:

Strike the IWD 2022 pose (arms crossed to show solidarity) and share to #BreakTheBias, #IWD2022, and @UFCWCanada.
