Solidarity with Honduran farmworkers fighting for union recognition at Fyffes

Toronto – UFCW Canada extends solidarity to Honduran farmworkers taking bold and courageous action in protesting unsafe working conditions and calling on the company to end retaliation against union activists.

Workers are demanding that the company recognize their right to join a union and sign the agreement drafted with IUF affiliate, El Sindicato de Trabajadores de la Agroindustria y Similares (STAS). Workers are organizing a union to address issues around unsafe work, right to recall and enforcing statutory benefits like paid overtime and the paid education bonus for children.
