BDM Scholarship Recipient Plans for Future in Dentistry

Mission, B.C. -  UFCW 1518 member Edadat Brar is a first-year science student at University of Fraser Valley: as the latest recipient of the BDM Scholarship award, she aspires to pursue a career in science and become a dentist.

“As a child of hard-working immigrant parents, I have always worked extra hard to save up for my post-secondary education. I have always known growing up that I have wanted to pursue a career in science and biology to become a dentist,” says Brar. “However, the path is long and an expensive one. Therefore, this scholarship will significantly help me financially while studying for my intended degree.”

The UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship offers a total of $18,000 in scholarships to UFCW Canada members and their families and is one of more than 25 union scholarships available to members and their relatives every year, totaling more than $300,000 in support.
